Improving Ukulele Playing

Kevin has led the arrangement of music and singing in Kalamunda Ukulele Collective for over three years.   He is now spreading the knowledge and experience gained though these many performances and his ongoing musical studies to other groups and individual students in Western Australia.   The strength of the approach used is the focus on live performance.  This is the aspect many ukulele players want to improve or move into.

"A huge holler out to Kevin Chennell who has taken us all on a glorious bluegrass journey over the last two weeks. Our walkin' shoes sure don't fit us any more! We have received such positive feedback from HUGs members and our lovely visitors. We've all thoroughly enjoyed Kevin's entertaining and informative style. Thanks! "

"Kevin Chennell is a versatile musician and performer who can bring people together across a range of musical abilities and genres. As well as playing in a number of groups Kevin has developed and led workshops including recent bluegrass style for predominantly ukulele players. These workshops have been enjoyed immensely culminating in a performance.

Kevin has also been a key leader and performer for the Strings Attached jam in partnership with Busselton Ukulele Strummers.  Hosting international performers together has been a highlight of recent musical gatherings."

I’ve been going to Kevin for one on one ukulele tuition now for a few weeks and am enjoying it immensely. Kevin approaches each lesson with not only great knowledge but also a great sense of humour, which makes each lesson extremely enjoyable. Kevin also goes above and beyond by providing resources for me to use in between lessons to keep me on track.
