Chennell & Jackson
Kevin Chennell & Paul Jackson are experienced musicians who have been playing together, originally as a duo, for about six years. They have a passion for learning, experimenting and arranging blues, jazz, country, pop and indie music. Recently Jayne, a percusionist, has joined Kevin and Paul at events. This has added variety and a swinging beat to their performances. Their performances are relaxed, focussed on producing an excellent live sound, with an engaging set list and they always take a gentle and fun approach to audience interaction.
Kevin, Paul and Jayne play in a variety of venues and can produce a sound that fits the ambience of the location and the mood and interests of the audience. Jazz ballads and old time music for a lyrical swing, soft rock for a more up-tempo and contemporary feel and familiar, danceable country music. Paul is also skilled in playing contemporary classical music on the keyboard (think Einaudi, Paterlini and Richter). The trio particularly add to the experience and vibe of the outdoors in Western Australia's beautiful climate at markets, wineries, cafes and one off events such as weddings, expos, festivals or fundraisers.
Instruments used include: Nord Piano 5 keyboard (with synth), Cole Clark acoustic guitar, Kanilea ukulele (from Hawaii), a Buffet soprano clarinet, harmonicas and percussion. Kevin Chennell takes most of the vocal duties.
The trio have a full sound mixing system with effects, a power amp, three large EV speakers and are able to perform at powered or unpowered events
(using a lithium storage battery/inverter at unpowered events).
